York County Coalition on Homelessness is a collaborative of community partners, housing and social service agencies and passionate volunteers who work together to help those facing homelessness across York County get connected to safe places to live and critical resources like food, healthcare, employment and education. The coalition works together to maximize our community’s vital resources, providing more people with safe, secure places to live.

York County Coalition on Homelessness also serves as the primary funding conduit for federal, state and local grants, which infuse critical funds into the community and leads research efforts to understand how homelessness is affecting our community and what efforts are creating the most positive change.

One goal. A shared mission. A collective belief. Together we can open more doors for those in need.

Launched in July, 2012, PA CareerLink® is part of the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry’s initiative to transform the landscape of how job-seekers find family sustaining jobs and how employers find the skilled candidates that they need. Through this initiative, a user-friendly, premiere job-matching system has been created to help bridge the gap that currently exists between job-seekers and employers.

For Job-Seekers:
In PA CareerLink®, job-seekers have the ability to search and apply for job openings across the Commonwealth or narrow it down to their own town. You can create and upload a resume and make yourself available to thousands of employers. PA CareerLink® will also recommend jobs for you based on your preferences. One exciting feature is an automatic capture of all of your job-search activities within PA CareerLink®. You have the ability to record any outside job-search activities, too. All in one place. All for free.

For Employers:
It is easy to search the talent pool in PA CareerLink®. Simply create a job-posting and connect with candidates for free. You will receive detailed information about job-seekers when you perform a search. You will also enjoy the benefit of sorting and filtering capabilities to help you manage your referral lists. Friends & Neighbors of Pennsylvania, Inc. (F&N) was formed in 2008 with a vision of all neighbors living and thriving in healthy communities. F&N seeks innovative long-term solutions through collaborative relationships to create change by boldly applying best practices and innovative solutions to stubborn problems that hurt our communities and prevent opportunities. Homelessness is a “stubborn problem” – one that is complex, complicated, multi-dimensional, and longstanding. It also requires the collective support of multiple service systems in the community that extend far beyond “housing.”

F&N’s partnerships with area homeless service providers including shelters, the York County Coalition on Homelessness, WellSpan Health, County departments, and many others have led to improved services to unsheltered neighbors since Coordinated Street Outreach began in 2020. Our collective goal is to make homelessness rare, brief, and non-recurring in York County.
